A man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
The arrest follows a spate of burglaries which occurred in the Newtownabbey area over the last few weeks.
And last night (Sunday) police received a report of an alarm activation at a pharmacy on the Doagh Road. A man was apprehended by police close to the scene and is currently helping them with their enquiries.
Police say burglaries have been an issue over the last few weeks and that this has understandably increased concerns within the community.

“While we have increased our visible presence in the community, there has been lots going on behind the scenes to address this issue and over the weekend our ducks lined up!” said a police spokesperson.
“On Friday night we arrested a man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and some interesting items were recovered at his home address – will update you when we can.
“A good result for the community with more to follow,” added the PSNI spokesperson.
