A 65-year-old man has been extradited from Spain in relation to a number of alleged child sex offences.
Police say the reported incidents date back to the 1980s.
The man was returned to Northern Ireland yesterday on a European arrest warrant.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “A 65-year-old man was extradited from Spain to Northern Ireland yesterday (Friday, 4 September).
“The man was arrested in Spain by virtue of a European Arrest Warrant sought by the Police Service of Northern Ireland in relation to a number of historical sexual offences against a child, dating back to the 1980s.”
The man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday, 5 September).
