Man in 20s treated for head injury after being attacked by four men in Belfast

A man in his 20s has been treated in hospital for a head injury after being assaulted by four men in Friendly Street in Belfast at around 7pm on Wednesday night.

The men are believed to have made off towards May Street following the incident.

One of the men is described as being around six feet in height and of medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms, grey trainers and a light coloured baseball cap.

The second man is described as aged in his 30s, 5ft 10 in height and of slim build. He was wearing a green coat, black trousers, dark trainers and a black cap.

The third man is believed to be around 25-years-old, 5ft 11 in height and of medium build. He was wearing a black woolly hat, a green jacket with white stripes, grey tracksuit bottoms and black shoes.

The fourth man is thought to have been wearing a blue hooded coat, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes and black shoes with white soles.

Chief Inspector Kirkpatrick said enquiries are continuing and police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1111 9/1/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
