A man needed over 20 stitches after being slashed across the face in an attack on the Cliftonville Road in north Belfast, last night (Wednesday, April 10).
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm and ammunition in suspicious circumstances. The man is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Patrick Conlan said the incident occurred around 9.30pm by a man who was described as being aged in his 30s, around 5ft 7” tall with black hair. He said the suspect was wearing a blue jacket and blue beanie hat.
After conducting a number of enquiries, officers carried out a search of premises at Cliftonville Avenue shortly after midnight and made the arrest.
