A man was treated in hospital for suspected fractures to his eye sockets and cheekbones and a cut to his face, following an assault in Larne.
The incident happened at Point Street area last night (Wednesday 22nd May) just after 10:30pm.
Detective Sergeant Robinson said it’s believed the assault occurred a short time earlier close to the underpass.
“The male was taken to hospital for a number injuries, including suspected fractures to his eye sockets and cheekbones and a laceration to his face. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening,” said the Detective Sergeant.
Police are appealing for information.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 2244 22/5/19. Alternatively information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” added Detective Sergeant Robinson.
