A man in his 30s was treated in hospital for head injuries following an assault at the Larne Link Road in Ballymena yesterday evening (Wednesday).
The incident happened around 7:30pm.
Detectives are appealing for information following the assault.
Detective Sergeant Robinson said it was reported that the man was assaulted at the river path in the area.
He was taken to hospital for a serious injury to his ear, as well as head injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, according to Detective Sergeant Robinson.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1260 15/5/19. Alternatively information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” added the Detective Sergeant.
