Masks compulsory in shops and enclosed spaces

Wearing face masks in shops and other enclosed public spaces will be compulsory from Monday.

Northern Ireland’s First Minister Arlene Foster has made the announcement.

The Executive has this week launched a public information campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of face coverings.

The ‘Wear One For Everyone’ campaign will be rolled out over the coming weeks and will demonstrate why people must wear a covering to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and save lives.

More information and guidance on the use of face coverings, including why they are needed, how to make one, and how they should be worn is available at: www.nidirect.gov.uk/face-coverings.

And indoor pubs which do not serve food will not be permitted to re-open on Monday, as previously planned.
