Renewed appeal following crash which claimed lives of three members of the one family

There’s a renewed appeal for information following the fatal crash which claimed the lives of three members of the same family near Portglenone.

Husband and wife, Paul and Varena Creelman, and Philip Hegarty, who was the brother of Mrs Creelman died in the crash on July 27 on the Lisnahunshin Road.


A silver Volkswagen Passat and a black Audi were involved in the collision, which was reported at around 10:40am that morning.

On Monday 3 August, exactly a week later, police revisited the scene and spoke with motorists as part of the efforts to understand the circumstances of the crash.

Senior Investigating Officer David Anderson is asking for people to come forward.

“I am also renewing my appeal for anyone who was in the area and who may not have spoken to police to please do so. I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured dashcam or mobile phone footage. Please call us on 101.
