Sinn Féin vice-president Michelle O’Neill says she’s ‘doing well’ after undergoing surgery on a broken leg at the weekend.
The MLA took part in the annual Pride parade in Belfast on Saturday, but she was absent from a republican hunger strike commemoration event in County Down on Sunday.
Yesterday (Tuesday) she tweeted to thank staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, who she said, ‘were amazing.’ She has also thanked those who sent well wishes.
Sinn Fein said Ms O’Neill broke her leg in an accident, but the party has not issued any further details.
