One person is believed to have been taken to hospital after being injured in a suspected gas explosion on the Upper Newtownards Road in east Belfast.
It happened at a newly opened Indian restaurant at around 4pm. The windows of the premises were blown out.
Traffic diversions are in place from the Sandown Road to Eastleigh Drive. The road is expected to be closed for some time.
The damaged building is now structurally unsound and the two out of town lanes will remain closed until repair work is completed
People have been evacuated from neighbouring properties. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
