Police say the naked body found near a waterfall in Malaysia, a mile from the Dusan resort where the family was staying is that of missing Nora Quoirin.
The 15-year-old disappeared over a week ago which led to a massive search operation in the jungle area.
The officer leading the hunt, Datuk Mazlan Mansor, said this morning that they had “reasonable information” to say that the body is that of Nora.
The teenager’s parents Meabh and Sebastien Quoirin visited the site where the body was found, according to missing persons charity the Lucie Blackman Trust.
A volunteer searcher told the MailOnline that Nora had told her parents she was ‘excited’ about seeing a waterfall.
The hunt for Nora had focused on the waterfall in the hours before the body was found there, the searcher said.
Nora flew to Kuala Lumpur from London with her dad and two siblings on August 4 for a two-week holiday. Her mother arrived at the resort from Singapore.
The family then travelled together to the forest resort from the airport on the Saturday.
Nora was found missing from her bedroom at 8am the following day.
