Never give up hope. Those are the words of MLA for North Belfast Nichola Mallon after her lost engagement ring turned up 18 months later.
Nichola, a former Belfast Mayor, lost her ring on a play park at the beach at Ballyliffen, Co Donegal.
The SDLP deputy leader shared the good news on social media that the ring had finally been found and returned.
Eighteen months ago I lost my engagement ring on the beach at the play park in Ballyliffin. I searched for hours that evening with the help of kind strangers and again the next morning to no avail.
I came home distraught and have felt awful ever since. I cannot believe that 18 months later a lady would find it, her sister would post it on Facebook and my ring and I have been reunited. I can never thank Fiona Collins and her sister Amanda enough for finding it & for their honesty.
