The coroner who will be presiding over the Nora Anne Quoirin inquest has visited the resort in Malaysia where she went missing.
Coroner Maimoonah Aid made the visit ahead of an inquest into the death of the Irish teenager who was 15.
Nora was reported missing on August 4, 2019 after her family arrived at the Dusun resort in Seremban – about 70km south of the capital Kuala Lumpur.
Nora was found dead 10 days later in the Malaysian jungle while on a family holiday.
According to The Star, the coroner was accompanied by the inquest conducting team, police and fire and rescue department personnel.
She is expected to spend time at the property to get a better picture of where Nora had reportedly spent the night before she disappeared.
The court will hear testimonies from 64 of 102 witnesses.
Nora’a body was found 10 days later beside a stream near the hotel.
An autopsy revealed that she had died from internal bleeding, probably brought on by stress and hunger.
Nora’s parents Maeve and Sebastian believe there was a criminal element to her disappearance.
According to The Star, the family will not be attending the hearing.
