Fireworks were recovered by police from young people in the east Antrim area last night.
Police say it was a busy night with multiple reports of youth related anti-social behaviour.
They are now issuing warnings to young people to behave within the law, or else they could end up with a criminal record.
“Personally I couldn’t quite believe the resolve of those involved considering the rainfall. If only that dogged determination could be channelled into more constructive activities,” said a police spokesperson.
Police say a number of ‘learning points’ have arisen from last night and they have advice for young people engaged in anti-social behaviour.
“If you’re going to park up with your mates in your cars, don’t be annoying folk because then we get called and come along and break up your fun.
“If you have fireworks but haven’t bothered getting a licence first, we will take them off you and deal with the offence accordingly. This may involve you looking a bit silly in front of your friends,” said the spokesperson.
“If you are attending the burger shop but have no intention of buying food but are just there to annoy everyone else, don’t be shocked if you end up with a banning notice. The impact of this on your social life doesn’t bear thinking about.
“Lastly, if you are out in that weather, you really should be wearing a proper coat,” added the spokesperson.
