Police have increased patrols in the greater Glengormley area following a number of aggravated burglaries.
They say these incidents have understandably caused concern within the community.
Chief Inspector Arthur Davidson said residents can expect to see more officers on patrol.
‘We are working with our PCSP colleagues to provide extra reassurance in the coming days. Our detectives are following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to these incidents and we are reminding the public to be vigilant and to report suspicious activity immediately,” he said.
Last week a woman in her 80s was left traumatised following a burglary at a house in Glenvarna Drive.
Three masked men called at the door and upon answering, the woman was pushed back inside and held by one of the men while the other two searched the house.
A sum of money was taken but the woman was not physically injured.

Police say this was a deplorable act by unscrupulous individuals preying on a vulnerable lady.
