Police officers waded into a freezing Belfast Lough, rescuing a man in crisis last night.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service also assisted with the operation.
This was one of the many incidents that police had to deal with last night across Mid and East Antrim.
They also transported two people to hospital to receive medical attention when the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service resources became stretched.
Police say it was a busy night as officers in the area dealt with assaults, drink drivers and sadly some people who attempted self harm.
Officers have also praised the ‘amazing’ paramedics who, they say, worked against the odds to ‘patch up’ countless people across the district.
