Peace and economic opportunity go together, said US President Joe Biden as he gave an address at Ulster University.
“Dividends of peace are all around us,” he said. In his address he said he hopes the Assembly is soon restored.
He talked about the Good Friday Agreement which was signed 25 years ago this week.
James Martin who starred in the film – An Irish Goodbye which won an Oscar for best live action short film in March, enjoyed a mention and applause from those gathered. The President said he would ‘go home and brag to his daughter’ about having met the star.
The President was driven to Ulster University in a motorcade from the Grand Central Hotel. He is also set to meet Irish President Michael D Higgins and visit Co Mayo, where he has ancestral roots.
