REVOLTING: car parked outside church is urinated on and has banana smeared across the windscreen

Vandals urinated on the door handles of a car and smeared a banana on the front windscreen while it was parked outside a church in Newtownbutler last night (Wednesday).

The incident happened sometime between 7:30pm and 10pm.

Police in Lisnaskea are asking for the help of the public in tracking down those responsible. The man received a call to say his car – a red Vauxhall Corsa – had been interfered with. Police say when he returned to his car ‘ what he saw was frankly revolting and disgraceful.’

“Somebody had pulled the front number plate off, scraped and scratched the handle for the boot. They had then rubbed a banana over the front windscreen and finished by urinating on the door handles,” said a police spokesperson.

“It is hard to imagine the mentality of people who would do this to somebody’s car, or find this funny. Disgusting, revolting, senseless are all words that spring to mind.

“If you can help us catch the people responsible then please ring 101 and quote incident number 199 of 11/10/18,” added the spokesperson.
