Schools in Northern Ireland will be closed on Friday, due to Storm Éowyn.
A red weather warning has been issued.
The Met Office said the Storm Éowyn could bring gusts of around 100mph and “flying debris resulting in a danger to life”.
In the Republic of Ireland, a rare nationwide red warning for wind is in force, issued by Met Eireann.
The red warning covers all of Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland.
The Northern Ireland warning is in effect from 7am until 2pm on Friday.
All schools in Northern Ireland have been advised to close on Friday, Stormont’s education minister, Paul Givan, has said.
