Weather warning upgraded to RED

The Met Office has upgraded Friday’s weather warning to red.

Very strong winds associated with Storm Éowyn could cause very dangerous conditions with widespread disruption and significant impacts expected.


It says driving conditions will be very dangerous, with fallen trees on roads

There could be power cuts affecting other services, such as mobile phone coverage.

There is likely to be damage to buildings and homes, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down.

There will be delays and cancellations to bus, train, ferry services and flights.
