A shot was reportedly fired when three men forced their way into a house in Downpatrick on Friday night (May 3).
The occupants of the property in Glebetown Drive were threatened by the men who were armed.
A woman and her adult son were in the house at the time.
Detective Sergeant Bell said: “It’s understood that during the incident, which was reported on Saturday afternoon, a number of men forced their way inside a property and threatened the occupants with a firearm.
“A shot was then allegedly fired into the air by the men as they made their escape.
“We are currently investigating and I would encourage anyone with information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 696 04/05/19,” he added.
