Small stores in Northern Ireland will be permitted to re-open from Friday, as part of the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Stormont’s Economy Minister Diane Dodds has just made the announcement.
The NI executive is meeting to decide what further easing of measures can be introduced.
Only large retailers and shops in retail parks are currently trading.
The Stormont Economy Minister said the executive will decide this week when shopping centres can re-open.
In the Republic of Ireland, all high street shops re-opened on Monday.
It’s also understood the executive discussed whether face coverings on public transport should be compulsory – however no decision has been taken.
No new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in Northern Ireland for the second consecutive day.
The UK has recorded its lowest daily rise in the number of deaths since before lockdown on 23 March, according to government figures.
