A sentencing appeal by a man convicted of claiming £4,105 benefits he was not entitled to was heard recently at Dungannon Crown Court.
Kenneth Poag (57) of Bovean Way, Dungannon claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £4,105 while failing to declare capital. He was convicted in January 2018 and given a three month prison sentence. Following today’s sentencing appeal, Mr Poag was given a three month prison sentence suspended for two years.
The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
