A 13-year-old cyclist has died following a collision with a car in the Springfield Road area of West Belfast on Friday.
He has been named as Eoin Hamill who was from the local area.
A man has been arrested and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Inspector David McBride said very sadly, the cyclist lost his life and he is appealing to people in the area to come forward.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the Springfield Road area between 4.15pm and 4.45pm and who witnessed this collision, or who may have captured dash cam footage, to get in touch as soon as possible. Please contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1302 of 03/01/20,” he added.
The Springfield Road has just re-opened.
