A teenager carrying a broken bottle fled empty handed from a fast food outlet in east Belfast after demanding money from staff.
The attempted armed robbery happened at Granton Park in the Tullycarnet area yesterday evening (Wednesday 8 January) just before 6:30pm.
Police say a young man entered, carrying a broken bottle and demanded money from a member of staff before attempting to climb over the counter.
He made off on foot empty handed.
The suspect is described as being aged in his late teens with dark hair. He was wearing black and grey clothing and black woven Nike gloves with a white tick. He had his hood up and face covered.
Detective Sergeant Duffield is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Musgrave on 101 quoting reference 1654 08/01/20.
