A dog which was tied up outside a Bangor supermarket has had the tip of its ear cut off.
The dog was at the downstairs car park in Tesco on Friday, September 21 when the incident occurred.
A charity group connected to the store is now appealing for information about the shocking incident.
The Tesco Springhill store’s community group has taken to Facebook in a bid to obtain information.
Staff at the store held a collection for the dog for assistance with vet bills.
The dog was tied up alongside other dogs – two Labradors and a Springer Spaniel.
“Someone took it upon themselves to cut his ear off,” wrote a representative of the group on Facebook.
“He was tied up in the downstairs car park. We are just looking for any customers that may have noticed anyone approaching the dog between 5:30pm and 8pm.
The cruel incident has shocked people and led to an outpouring of sympathy for the dog.
