The Belfast to Liverpool ferry was evacuated last night following a report that a device had been left on board.
Belfast Harbour Police and PSNI officers carried out the search of the boat which was docked in the city.
Nothing was found and passengers were allowed to board the ship again.
Meanwhile, the security alert in the Derrycoole Way area of Rathcoole, Co Antrim has ended.
Following an examination by army technical officers, a suspicious object was declared a hoax.
Residents were allowed to return to their homes.
