Motorists are advised to expect traffic disruption as thousands of people attend tonight’s Belsonic concert at Ormeau Park in south Belfast.
Traffic restrictions will be in place – with cones placed near the venue to maximise public safety, minimise traffic disruption and secure emergency vehicle access.
Ormeau embankment will be closed to traffic, between the Ormeau Road and the Ravenhill Road junctions, if required, between 4pm and midnight.
Private coaches travelling to the event will be allowed to park as directed along the embankment and should approach the venue from the Ormeau Road.
Gig goers are advised to park in the city centre and either walk to the concert, or use the special Translink Metro and rails Services – for more information visit www.translink.co.uk
There will NOT be any ‘drop off’ points in the area of the event Site. ‘Drop offs’ and ‘Pick ups’ should be arranged at locations well away from the event site.
Carl Cox headlines tonight’s event – he’s of the most charming DJs in the business. A veteran of acid house, a champion of techno, a dance music pioneer, Carl’s been there and done it, never losing sight of his passions.
Carl’s classic releases include his 1995 mix CD, ‘F.A.C.T,’ which became a techno hit, selling over 250,000 copies, and the 1996 EP ‘Two Paintings and a Drum.’
In 2005, Carl’s third album, ‘The Second Sign’ caused a stir among music lovers in Europe. It got to number three in Spain’s national chart. Also gaining critical acclaim was ‘Dirty Bass,’ – this was a collaboration with Christian Smith, and the funky ‘Give Me Your Love.’
