Two men arrested by detectives from the PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit yesterday in connection with an attack on a house in Poleglass in West Belfast, on Wednesday (September 26) have been released.
A 47-year-old man, who was arrested in the Suffolk Road area and a 41-year-old man who was arrested in the Glenwood area in Dunmurry were taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
Police seized a number of items, including a suspected replica firearm and BB gun as well as mobile phones in a planned search. They have all been taken away for further examination.
Detective Inspector Andrew Hamlin said police will continue to target all those involved in paramilitary and terrorist activity as their illegal actions only serve to blight the communities they operate in.
“Information from members of the public is absolutely vital in tackling serious crime and I would appeal to anyone who has any information to call police on the non-emergency number 101.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” he adeded.
