It’s one of the busiest nights of the year, and many find it too easy to say no to a few pints of beer or a couple of glasses of wine – even when they know they will be driving.
However, there are strict drink driving penalties if you are caught over the limit. And more importantly, you could kill someone if you get behind the wheel when unfit to drive. The best option is not to drink at all when you know you will be driving.
Another drink driver was caught by police on the Castledawson Road in Magherafelt – one of the highest readings the PSNI has ever detected.
“Yet another selfish individual caught by us before they killed someone,” said a police spokesperson.
And if you’re driving in the morning, do bear in mind that you could STILL be over the limit.
