A woman in her 40s and a man in his 20s were treated for smoke inhalation following a suspected arson attack in North Belfast.
Extensive damage was caused to the front door, the porch, hallway ceiling and upstairs floor of the property at Glenrosa Link after petrol was poured through a letterbox shortly after 4:30am.
Detectives are appealing for information following the incident which happened this morning (Thursday 3 September).
Smoke damage was also reported throughout the house following the incident.
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended the scene and extinguished the fire. A woman in her 40s and a man in his 20s were inside the house and were later treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 188 03/09/20.
