Wrightbus gears up for two Hong Kong orders

Wrightbus in Ballymena has announced that the company has secured two orders for over 200 buses from Hong Kong.

Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) has ordered 150 units and its sister company, LongWin Bus, has placed an order for 10.

The firm also said it received an order for seven buses for New World First Bus and 46 for its sister company City Bus Ltd.

The orders will be fulfilled at the new site in Gracehill, which was formerly owned by tobacco company JTI.

The deals come just days after Wrightbus revealed a drop in pre-tax profits from £10.7m to £1.5m.

The buses for KMB will be among the first to be produced at the new facility.
