Police are tonight dealing with a crowd of around 150 young people who are drinking alcohol and throwing stones and bottles at passing motorists in the Falls Park area of West Belfast.
And they’re asking parents to get in touch with their children and take them home.
A police helicopter is assisting officers on the ground.
Young people have been causing a nuisance in various areas of Belfast over the past month.
And police have issued a stern message to parents, pointing out that this behaviour will not be tolerated.
“If they are observed committing an offence, they will be dealt with robustly and the consequences could have lasting repercussions on their futures,” said a spokesperson.
And police are also keen to stress that the helicopter support is essential for public safety.
“To any local residents who have been inconvenienced by the helicopter, we apologise in advance, but this is required as there is a risk to the public if a stone or a bottle were to strike a bus or car,” added the spokesperson.
