A man in his thirties suffered injuries to his arm after being subjected to a suspected paramilitary style assault in Bangor last night (Thursday, 14 November).
The man was at the football pitches in the Kilcooley area when he was assaulted at around 8pm. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Detective Sergeant Westbury said this was a despicable attack, and those involved in this type of attack do not represent the interests of any community, nor do they contribute anything to it.
And police are appealing for information.
“I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area last night and saw what occurred, or anyone who has information which may help our investigation and help identify those responsible for this despicable attack to pick up the phone and tell us what you know by calling detectives in Bangor on 101, and quoting reference number 1744 of 14/11/19,” said Detective Sergeant Westbury.
