Fifty seven jobs are to go as Ballymena-based firm JBE Mechanical Electrical has just announced it has ceased trading.
The administrator said earlier today (Friday) that it was ‘not feasible’ for the business to continue operating. JBE was established 1983.
All 57 members of staff have been informed that their positions are redundant.
Ballymena has suffered a decline in industry over the past few years. The closures of the JTI Gallagher factory and the Michelin tyre plant resulted in the loss of more than 1500 jobs. And this morning management at Drumbo greyhound stadium announced it was to close with immediate effect.
