A monkey that escaped from Belfast Zoo on Saturday has died after being hit by a car.
The monkey was struck on the M2 yesterday evening. It was taken back to the zoo, but died shortly afterwards.
Belfast City Council said it was investigating how the monkey managed to escape from the enclosure.
A number of people took to social media after seeing the monkey.
