High number of primary school online applications causes technical difficulties

More than 7,000 applications for primary school places have been received by the Education Authority via its online system within its first day of operation.

The demand was so high that the EA experienced technical problems earlier today.

The Education Authority said it was working to resolve these and it kept parents up to date via social media.

Parents are reminded that the closing date and time for pre-school and primary one applications will be midnight on Thursday, January 31.

Places are not allocated on a first come first served basis, and schools and play groups will not consider applications until after the closing date.

If parents need help with their application or encounter any difficulties they should contact the EA admissions help desk on 028 95 98 55 95, or email preschooladmissions@eani.org.uk or primaryadmissions@eani.org.uk.
