A man is being treated in hospital following what police are describing as ‘a paramilitary style’ shooting in West Belfast last night.
The incident happened in Turf Lodge at around 11.30pm.
The man, who is in his 30s, has suffered what police say are ‘life-changing’ injuries.
He was shot in the leg at Monagh Crecent in the Norglen Road area.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
“We are treating this shooting as a paramilitary style attack. This incident is another example of how criminal groups seek to control communities through fear and violence,” PSNI Detective Inspector McGaffin said.
And he is appealing to anyone with information who can assist them with their enquiries to contact police on the 101 number quoting reference 1416/7/10/2018.
