A woman has been hit with a hammer in an aggravated burglary at Skegoneill in north Belfast.
The incident happened in the early hours of Monday (July 2).
Detective Inspector McDonnell said police received a report at approximately 12:15am that two men entered the property in the Queen Victoria Gardens area armed with what was described as a hammer.
“It was reported that the female occupant, was struck on the leg with the hammer,” he said.
The men stole two mobile phones from the property.
The first man is approximately 6ft in height, slim and clean shaven. He was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and dark cotton shorts. The second man is around 5ft 4” and he was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up and black shorts.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around this time and saw what happened, or anyone who noticed any suspicious activity to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency number 101,” added the Detective Inspector.
